Fellows of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers are recognized for having advanced skills in the practice of family law. To be considered for admission, a lawyer must be an experienced practitioner with a significant proportion of his or her practice in the area of family law.

- The Texas Chapter presents an annual seminar in Dallas each Spring, which includes a case law update, hot tips from the experts, and panels of family court judges and commissioners discussing issues commonly seen in family court. The seminar is videotaped and replayed through-out the state with local panels of judges and commissioners.
- The Chapter also holds a member-only spring and fall program, which consists of in-depth discussion of major issues in family law. Other social events are held time to time during the year.
